Monastery in Bol was build on the peninsula Glavica in 15th century on the site where was episcopal palace (Biskupija) mentioned in 1184 in Povaljska listina.

Museum in the Monastery has rich collection of prehistoric items, numismatic collection, collection of underwather archeology, collection of Mass-robes and archives that containd incunalbulas, charters and decrees from the 15th century.

Gallery „Branislav Desković“, situated in the port of Bol in the renaissance-baroque palace (from the end of the 17th century), is the gallery of the Croatian contemporary art and has more then 380 exhibits.

The gallery has exibits of the Branislav Deskovic, Ignjat Job, Ivan Rendić, Edo Murtić, Ljubo Ivančić, Branimir Dešković, Emanuel Vidović, Josip Botteri and the others.
