History of Trogir Croatia
Trogir was founded by Greek colonists from the Island of Vis in the third century BC. On this antique matrix lies the historical core of Trogir, which is the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town, in the Adriatic, and in Eastern Europe. Trogir's medieval core, surrounded by walls, is composed of a preserved castle and tower and a series of homes and palaces from Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods.

The grandest building of Trogir is the church of St. Lawrence. The main West portal is the masterpiece of Master Radovan, the most significant work of art in Dalmatia. Today the old part of the Trogir is under protection of UNESCO. Trogir has got very important characteristics like ideal position in the heart of the Adriatic, vicinity to Croatian destinations (from Istria to Dubrovnik, the islands) and the airport with direct flights to the biggest European centers just five kilometres from the town.
